Mike Hettwer Bio

In the last ten years, Mike Hettwer's travels have taken him to sixty countries and on seven expeditions. He has photographed dinosaur and archaeology expeditions to the Sahara and Gobi Deserts, with renowned paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno. He has also photographed the Leakeys and their hunt for human origins in the Lake Turkana area of Kenya.
His photos have appeared in over 5,000 magazines, newspapers, books and web sites including National Geographic Magazine, National Geographic TV, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, the United Nations Year Book, CNN, BBC, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, PBS, NPR, the America 24/7 books, the America at Home book, Science, Nature, Discover, Wired, New Scientist, Stern, Scientific American and USA Today.
Mike built and ran several web and consulting companies. He sold web development firm Ionix Development to a public company and was CEO and co-founderof Avenue, a Chicago-based marketing and e-commerce firm.
